Jewish cross

Jewish crossThe Hill of Crosses in Lithuania is a second example of the Jewish faith on display. The Hill of Crosses is a complex of over twenty stone crosses and memorials to the Jewish people who were killed during the Holocaust. The crosses are carved into the side of a hill, which is the only remaining evidence of the Vilna Ghetto where hundreds of thousands of Jews were executed and which are the only remains of a Jewish village that was destroyed during World War II. The Hill of Crosses is a symbol of the Jewish people’s presence in Lithuania, and the Jewish people’s role in shaping the country’s history.
